‘The Potter and the Pot  – Arguing with God’

Isaiah 45:9-10. GNT

“Does a clay pot dare argue with its maker, a pot that is like all the others?

Does the clay ask the potter what he is doing?

Does the pot complain that its maker has no skill?

Do we dare say to our parents, ‘Why did you make me like this?’”

Earlier in this chapter from verses 5 and 6:

“I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God… I am the Lord, and there is no other.”

‭‭

It seems that both then and now there are people that have a hard time simply acknowledging that God is God. He is the Creator and we are His Creation. The Created is not in a position to argue with the One who Creates.

Argue – ‭‭ ‘to contend or disagree; to give reasons for or against something.’

Am I contending or disagreeing with God and giving Him reasons why He is mistaken? That would be like the pot arguing with the Potter. God is my Father and He welcomes me sharing my heart, though He does not welcome an argument.

Question: How about You? What are the times you might ‘argue’ with God?
