Proverbs 4

Proverbs 4:23

“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”

The ‘wellspring ‘ is from where everything flows. It is the source of my thoughts and all my emotions.

Without God and His Word and left to myself, my heart is in trouble.

Jeremiah 17:9

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately corrupt; who can understand it?”

With God and His Word, transformation is possible.

‭‭Romans 12:2

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

This renewing of my mind is the proactive approach to how I can ‘guard’ my heart.

Yes to being careful about input: what I read, watch, listen to and think about.

Yes also to being diligent to invest daily time with God meditating on His Word and a lifetime of transformation.

Prayer.

Father God, You know the wickedness of my heart. Thank you for new life in Christ. Please transform my thoughts and my desires as I meditate on Your Word.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

  1. Praying today for the hearts of men who will be gathering nationwide at Iron Sharpen Iron events this entire month. ISI events have historically penetrated hearts and transformed lives. May this happen over and over, man after man, with both young and old.
