Proverbs 9

Proverbs 9:7-8

“Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults; whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse. Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you; rebuke the wise and they will love you.”

A simple guide in discipling men is to measure if they’re:

F. Faithful

A. Available

T. Teachable

A teachable man may not love being corrected but loves the person that is invested enough to take the risk to correct him.

This is in contrast to a mocker – one who defies and renounces truth to their detriment and destruction.

The mocker is the opposite of a teachable man. The response of any attempt to correct him is insult and hatred. The instruction here is clear – do not rebuke him.

Prayer.

Heavenly Father, help me to be a teachable man and please bring teachable men into my life. In Jesus Name,

Amen.
