Proverbs 12

Proverbs 12:4

“A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.”

His ‘crown’ is his splendor, something to be celebrated.

Current male culture would seem to celebrate beauty as men publicly brag about the outward appearance of their women. Yet God values something different..

I Peter 3:3-4

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”

As a Christian man comes into ‭‭alignment with what Almighty God values, it will be the ‘character’ of his wife that brings him splendor. This is what married men should publicly celebrate.

The warning here for single men is that a women’s lack of character has the very real potential to debilitate her own husband.

The challenge for every man, whether married or single, is to always value what God values….

Proverbs 31:10

“A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.”

Heavenly Father, help me to live by faith and not just by sight and to value and hold in the highest regard exactly what You value.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
