Proverbs 20:29
“The glory of young men is their strength, but the splendor of old men is their gray hair.”
‘Old Men vs Young Men’
‘Glory vs Splendor’
‘Strength vs Gray Hair’
Many older men long to be young again, to physically do what they can no longer do. Certainly a secular, lost culture fuels this desire. But this desire dismisses what the man has gained…
Proverbs 16:31
“Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by living a godly life.”
Is every older man with gray hair wiser and more godly? Clearly not, but that is the design of God.
Job 12:12
“Wisdom belongs to the aged, and understanding to the old.”
Older men can feel and even be useless if they do not intentionally invest their experience and the wisdom and understanding that they now possess into the next generation…
Psalm 71:18
“Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power and might to the next generation, your many mighty acts to all who are to come.”
Prayer.
Heavenly Father, thank You for my gray hair and thank You for the many years of walking with You. Please open doors of opportunity for me to declare your power and might to the next generation. In Jesus Name, Amen.
