Proverbs Twenty-Eight

Proverbs 28:1

“The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.”

Righteous or ‘right living’ manifests itself in a certain boldness. There is no need to expend any mental and emotional energy on past falsehoods and deception and being found out. This is not so with the wicked who lie and deceive….

Proverbs 12:19

“Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.”

The wicked live a life of uncertainty, always looking behind them, wondering and worrying if their deceitful living will be found out. They have violated their own conscience and they have no real peace.

Paul was as bold as a lion and one reason for this was his clear conscience…

Acts 24:16

‭‭ “I always strive to have a clear conscience before both God and men.”

The righteous man will not be perfect but will have a clear conscience and thus the boldness of a lion.

Prayer.

Heavenly Father, may I live a righteous life today in the little things that I say and do and quickly address any matters that the Holy Spirit brings to my attention. In Jesus Name, Amen.
