“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
I so appreciate how Paul would actually pray when he wrote his letters. He did more than just say that he would pray for them, he actually prayed!
This certainly must have been his style in person as well, actually praying for people and not just sharing that he would be praying for them.
I saw this modeled by a seminary professor, Dr J. Christy Wilson, when I was a young man at seminary. Placing his hand on my shoulder – he would intercede for me and speak to God on my behalf almost every time we met!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the example of the Apostle Paul and Dr Wilson and now make me a man who does more than share my intentions but who actually prays for the people you have placed in my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.
