My tendency is to pray first for others and if I am not careful – skip over myself!
Not the case with David, who over and over and over prayed for himself….
“Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught”
Not the case with Jesus, who prayed for himself first;
“Jesus looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.”
There are hopefully family and friends praying for me, but who really knows? The question is what am I praying for myself? What am I trusting God for? How am I asking Him to change me? What scriptures has He brought to my attention for me to follow right now?
Here are three scriptures that I am regularly praying to God for myself right now:
– Ephesians 4:2
– Proverbs 3:27
– Deuteronomy 6:4-7
Question: What are you praying for yourself?
