Proverbs 7:1-3

“My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you. Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.”

Verse 1 is to treasure godly counsel. That’s important!

Verse 2 is to keep or follow godly counsel. That’s really important!!

Some people listen and treasure and it ends there. Jesus had something to say about these type of people. He called them ‘foolish’.  

Matthew 7:26

“Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.”

The alternative is to keep or follow the words of Jesus or godly counsel. This person takes action. 

Matthew 7:26

“Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
