Acts 3:11
“While the beggar was clinging to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them at Solomon’s Porch, full of amazement.”
The ministry to this one man had quickly turned into a ‘platform’ for ministry to many men. As this was all happening at the temple, the growing audience were Israelites and Peter used this new ‘platform’ to speak to them accordingly:
v 12 – men of Israel…
v 13 – the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers…
v 17 – now brothers…
v 18 – God fulfilled through the prophets…
v 22 – for Moses said..
v 24 – indeed all the prophets from Samuel on…
v 25 – you are heirs of the prophets…
v 25 – the covenant God made with your fathers…
Platform. Peter knew and identified with his audience and used this personal connection as another ‘platform’ to share the Gospel.
God would soon raise up Paul to take the Gospel to the Gentiles, but for now, it was to the Jews, and God had provided a platform for Peter. It was Paul who later would write:
Romans 1:16
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: ‘first to the Jew’, and then to the Gentile.”
Prayer.
Heavenly Father, help me to be aware of the platforms that You provide for me and would You give me courage to utilize them to identify with Jesus.
In His Name I pray, Amen.
