We know we are to forgive as God has forgiven us…
Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
Clearly in this war, there should be no expectation that the enemy would be kind and tender hearted. He is not, and never will be, and he works to draw us into not forgiving others….
II Corinthians 2:10-11 “Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.”
It can be more than my self absorbed flesh and the ‘me first’ culture that may lead me to an unforgiving and bitter attitude. It is also a popular scheme of the enemy. He knows how not forgiving other people will destroy me.
Question: Ask yourself, is there anyone that I need to forgive?
Action Point: I need to pause and consider if there is anyone that I am even holding a grudge against.
