Guard Your Heart

There is usually a ‘why’ if we are playing with fire.

Proverbs 7:25

“Don’t let your heart turn aside to her ways…”

There is a reason men do what they do – and it’s almost always a matter of the heart. Our desires and longings might slowly have changed. There might be wounds and bitterness and lack of contentment.

A few chapters earlier, King Solomon exhorts his sons.

Proverbs 4:23

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Don’t miss this! We are more likely to play with fire and be in the wrong place at the wrong time, if we do not above all else, simply ‘guard our heart’.

  1. Amen so true each day I have to guard my heart. The world would tell you that there is no need to guard your heart that includes for me to be vigilant at all times to know my surroundings.
