Deuteronomy 32:48-49
“And the Lord said to Moses that very same day, “Go up to this mountain of the Abarim, Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab opposite Jericho, and look at the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the sons of Israel as a possession.”
Here it was – the ‘Promised Land’ – literally the land that God had promised to His People. It had been hundreds of years and now the time had come.
Deuteronomy 34:1-4
“Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And the Lord showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan, all Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the western sea, the Negeb, and the Plain, that is, the Valley of Jericho the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar. And the Lord said to him, “This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, ‘I will give it to your offspring.’
Abraham never saw it. Isaac never saw it. Jacob never saw it. But God did keep His promise that He made to them. Peter would reflect on the promise keeping character of God…
II Peter 3:9
“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.”
God keeps His Promises.
