1 Peter 5:8

I Peter 5:8

“Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour.”

My enemy is on the prowl. So what is it to prowl?

Prowl – to move around restlessly, stealthily in search of prey.

Stealthily – slow, deliberate, and secret in character.

There are times I just don’t ‘feel’ like I am in a war. So those are the times I need to be digging into God’s Word and be reminded that I absolutely do have an enemy. The reality is that if I do have an enemy then I am obviously in a war.

Note that this enemy is often lurking in the shadows, out of sight. But he is slow and deliberate – waiting, waiting, waiting for the opportune time.

Question: Today, do you feel like you are in a war?

Action Point: Peter writes my action point: ‘be sober and alert’. My head needs to be on a swivel and I need to keep my guard up at all times.
