I earnestly pray (Psalm 139) and meditate on the Word of God (Hebrews 4) since my heart is deceitful (Jeremiah 17). But what else must I do to guard my heart (Proverbs 4:23)?

Proverbs 27:17

“As iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another.”

Almighty God has made each of us for community and we make our best decisions and avoid dead ends when we seek and embrace godly counsel.

Proverbs 12:15

“A fool’s way is right in his own eyes, but whoever listens to counsel is wise.”

I guard my heart and my life by living in community and asking godly people who know me for wise counsel.
