Proverbs 7:22-23

“All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast till an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will ‘cost him his life’.”

Part 6 in ‘Playing with Fire’ reminds us that just one bad decision can completely alter a man’s life and in some ways end his life?

This is why Proverbs 7 is so critical for the man of God. One bad decision can and will change your life. One bad decision will impact your marriage and family and most other relationships as well as your ministry and witness and finances and community and much more. 

Note: The ox going to slaughter does not know he is taking his last walk, but he is. The stag that is entangled does not know he is about to be shot, but he is. The bird flying accidentally into a snare doesn’t know his end is near, but it is. So it is with the man who ‘all at once’ steps over that line, his life is forever changed. 

Yes, there are consequences so we always ‘flee immorality’.
