Acts 14:5  “There was a plot afoot among both Gentiles and Jews, together with their leaders, to mistreat them and stone them.”

We read about Saul becoming Paul and teaming up with Barnabas to reach the world for Jesus. Woohoo! What a great team and what a great ministry! But not everyone thought so. 

Both Jews and Gentiles 

– plotted against them 

– mistreated them.  

– wanted to stone them 

Though many will honor and esteem those in ministry – not everyone will. In fact, some will plot and scheme to hinder and to hurt you! They will ‘poison people’s minds’ against you and your ministry (v 2).  They will lie and gossip and slander and bring division.  

Here’s a clear reminder early on in this first missionary journey that what some see as noble – others will despise.
