Joshua 6:8 “And it was so, that when Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets made of rams’ horns went on before the Lord and blew the trumpets; then the ark of the covenant of the Lord went behind them.”
‘And it was so…’ When Joshua spoke, the people listened and they obeyed.
There was no murmuring. There was no grumbling. There was no questioning Joshua about this absolutely crazy ‘walk around the city’ plan.
Instead, they moved into formation and did exactly as they followed instructions. Was this a new people or a new leader? Was this a result of the crossing the Jordan River on dry ground at flood stage?
What we do know is that Joshua was not people pleasing but was following God’s personal directive to him. “Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified. Do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
What instructions do you need to follow?
