Spiritual Leadership: ‘Consequences of Rebellion’

Numbers 16:23,24 reads: “The Lord replied to Moses, “Tell the community: Get away from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.”

The three men who chose to lead the rebellion against God appointed spiritual leadership would be dealt with – and it would not just those three men…

Numbers 16:27  “So they moved away from the tents of Korah, Dathan and Abiram. Dathan and Abiram had come out and were standing with their wives, children and little ones at the entrances to their tents.”

It was not just the men, but every member of the man’s family and his extended family who would suffer.

‭‭

Numbers 16:31-34  “The ground suddenly split open beneath them. The earth opened its mouth and swallowed the men, along with their households and all who were standing with them, and everything that they owned. So they all went down alive into the grave, along with all their belongings. The earth closed over them, and they all vanished from among the people of Israel. All those around them fled when they heard their screams. The earth will swallow us, too!” they cried.”

Every person and possession associated with these men vanished. Again, it was not just the three men – but their wives, their children and their little ones who would perish.

Do I understand that everyone suffers when men rebel against God appointed spiritual leadership?
