Acts 2:46-47
“Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with a joyful and humble attitude, praising God and having favor with all the people…”
The ‘new church’ was a ‘new family’ and wasn’t just meeting regularly – but literally every day! And where did they meet – in one another’s homes. And why did they meet – to encourage one another in person every day.
Hebrews 3:12-3
“Watch out, brothers and sisters, so that there won’t be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage each other every day, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception.”
Those in this ‘new family’ were committed to every day fellowship. The rhythm was ‘daily’ – not weekly. This ‘in person’ fellowship in one another’s homes was not just because there was no technology but to learn and grow and to give and receive encouragement.
Prayer.
Father, give me grace to step up my fellowship with my brothers and sisters.
In Jesus Name. Amen!
