Genesis 39:19-20

“When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, “This is how your slave treated me,” he burned with anger. Joseph’s master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were confined.”

Joseph lost favor with Potiphar very quickly. Note that there was no investigation for the truth, rather lies and false accusations were made and believed.  

Sounds familiar.  Mark 14:56-57

“Many testified falsely against him, but their statements did not agree. Then some stood up and gave false testimony against him:”

This happened to Jesus and to Joseph and I should not be surprised if things like this happen to me. Most people are concerned with their own self interests and not with discovering the truth.
