Genesis 41:14
“Then Pharaoh sent and called for Joseph, and they hurriedly brought him out of the dungeon; and when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came to Pharaoh.”
Even though they were in a ‘hurry’ to bring Joseph to Pharaoh, they made time for Joseph to get cleaned up and dressed with respectful clothes. His outward appearance from prison life in the ‘dungeon’ needed a quick remake. His inward self though remained strong. He was respectful but not intimidated as he addressed Pharaoh:
Genesis 41:16
“I cannot do it,” Joseph replied to Pharaoh, “but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.”
BOOM! Prisoner Joseph immediately identifies with Almighty God. He was ready and prepared for this moment.
I Peter 3:15…
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
Am I ready today to identify with God?
